~ One World One Heart 2011 ~

My name is Abi, I'm an art doll maker, art doll collector, & animal collector.  I used to live in England, but now live in Oklahoma with my husband & growing animal sanctuary.

This event is principally about meeting & greeting! the additional bit is there's a door prize for one winner! Simply leave a comment & you'll have the opportunity to win my handmade art doll, her birdy friend, & wooden keyring. If doll's aren't your cup of tea, I'd still like to meet you!  I will use an online random number generator to determine the winner on February 17th.  Lisa's image above was my inspiration for this doll.
She's a 17.5" tall  ribbon jointed doll, made with paperclay & puppen fimo, painted with professional acrylics.  Bamboo viscose hair, vintage & current day fabrics, embellished with a beautiful miniature diamond & saphire style brooch. 
Her bird is handmade from English fabric, and sports a brass crown from Sweden ~ Thanks Christina!
The wooden heart keyring was handmade by my Dad in England. I painted it, and added the text.
A global collaboration, ready to be shipped anywhere on Earth!

PS.  I'm also giving away a handmade art doll sketch book/ journal over at Art Dolls Only, since we are participating as a team for this OWOH event too.

    Abi, I never used to be into dolls at all until I joined the Hive and saw yours and a few others there! I'm a total convert now, my eyes have been truly opened to the stylish, chique creativity of this craft. Your dolls are beyond my expectations of how good I could ever imagine dolls could be. I suppose I didn't know what an 'art doll' was until I saw one I'd never even heard of them before :0/ She is so pretty and adorable with her bird and wooden heart and her clothing is beautiful too, I especially love her ankl-tied pink shoes! :0) Stunning work! :0)

    I am blown away by your blog and your beautiful art dolls. You've got mad skills girl. I couldn't begin to tell you how much I want to win your wonderful doll. She's absolutely perfect!     Abi, I was wondering how a gal from Britain found her way to Oklahoma, but when I read that a Texan had lassoed his way into your heart, then I knew! I'm a Texan living in Arizona and I remember how those boys can be!! He's a very lucky guy to have found someone who will bring art and culture into his cowboy heart/life. Good for you! Your OWOH inspired doll is well, just inspired! I've been following ADO for a while and have noticed your dolls on there. And, why is your etsy empty? Good sign or not enough time to fill it?
