*Art Dolls for Sale*

My friend Jill, is having to part with her collection of Art Dolls to raise funds towards her husbands upcoming Kidney Transplant.  She doesn't have access to a camera, and doesn't have any online social networks, so I am helping her to show what she has to offer.

Since this is time sensitive, it seemed most appropriate to highlight each doll she has available, and the link to the sold doll for image reference.

I joined Ebay (was an Ebay.co.uk member) but it's all changed so much - took me forever to figure it all out.
I listed my Zutter machines, since I don't use them, and got the bug for auctions again, so I listed my latest doll ~

~ New Art Dolls & A New Shop! ~

I have been incredibly disciplined this week and managed to remove myself form the laptop, and made three dolls!
The first two are commissioned, & the last one called Mia is looking for a new home via Etsy She is the last of the winter Bohemian/Bo-ho Chic range!

Kathy has named her doll kendal, which I think suits her very well.  Kathy knew exactly what she wanted her doll to wear, and I enjoyed the challange to 'get it right'.  I also discovered I love making miniature things, & this paint palette & brush was no exception.  Kathy also wanted a Black Labrador..

Christine wanted a doll similar to Snowflake - it's impossible for me to recreate a doll, but I think I encapsulated some of the features.

Christine, the new owner of this doll, has a cute little pup called Bonny - I think this Whimzy pet takes the part.

These boots were inspired by the amazing Colleen of  A Dollmaking Journey... she made the cutest pair for her doll Truffle... Colleen made hers from leather and clay - mine are made just from clay, stamped and painted to look like leather.. I prefer Colleen's so will try using real leather next time!  Thanks Colleen for the inspiration!

Hey guys.... lot's of lovely people have been asking where my new dolls are, and why aren't they for sale? well, I haven't made any yet! I am sooooo desperate to start, but still knee deep in organizing our new home. I discovered I can not multi-task, at all.

Is anyone else having Blogger trouble? since the upgrade, I've been downgraded! I can't leave messages on other blogs, can't stay 'signed in' and have to revert to the old editor to access images.... it is frustrating the pants off me! I feel bad because I've not replied to any messages... perhaps if I stay in the 'old editor' mode, I will not have issues? ~*

The new book a collaboration between Elinor Peace Bailey, Patti Medaris Culea and Barbara Willis is on the book shelves....These books are on their way to England for my mum and sister.
 
Last year Patti asked me to make a doll to be shown in the Gallery section of her chapter.... It was only my fifth cloth doll... and you can tell! Oh how I wish it was an image of one of my recent dolls!!
But, I'm not complaining - it was a real honour to be asked by not only my favourite cloth doll maker, but a 'doll master' at that!  Thanks Patti, you are wonderful :O)

This really is an OH MY GOSH!

The Dubai show is cancelled until next year.... double drat.   I am gutted, but there is nothing we can do about it :O(  with cut budgets, they were forced to cancel the majority of their summer shows.

But, all is not lost, I have a new camera to play with... a Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm IS lens no less!  and a Berina Aurora 430 sewing and embroidery machine to play with... oh, and 2 new little kittens that my husband found huddled in the road.

I will eventually take photos of all the dolls I had made for the show, and of the growing Badger and the cute kittens, but for now, here is my camera experimentation... there is so much to learn... ugg.

Well, I definately need to practice using the camera..  It's so heavy, my wrist aches LOL!

When the time comes....bid on the amazing Cigar Box Shrines already in the auction..... the auction officially commences on 17th through to 24th April. With a preview on the 16th April. I will post details of the auction website nearer the time.

One hundred percent of the funds generated in the upcoming auction will go directly to the project.

FAMILY

Having just returned from England, I still feel a little homesick :O(  My Grandma's funeral service was lovely, and I have lots of treasures to remind me of her life :O)

Spending time with my Mum & Dad was great, as was time with my sister (on the left), and my rapidly growing gorgeous neices (oh, and my brother-in-law of course! well, he isn't rapidly growing except for the grey hairs tee hee)

PETS

My beloved black cat died the day I returned form England, eek, I so miss him.

Onray returned from the vets yesterday.... he got bitten by a Rattlesnake AGAIN!

Bobby vanished for three days, has returned thank god, but she's never gone wandering, so I was freaked out for a while...

Well folks, I think that's about it for one day :O)
