New Dolls & what's with dying fabric?

I can't dye fabric the colour I want. Never. Ever.  I wanted black, or at least it to look like this ~

But no, I get this ~

Which happens to be an indeliberate, yet perfect match for an outfit I'm making for a custom doll, inspired by this book ~

Oh, I had a split in the glove I was using, and have a beautiful grey blue set of fingers .

I bought these yesterday ~ love the colour.

New doll, with a Victorian edge...

Baudette knew what she wanted, which made this doll a joy to work on... I was a bit slow with getting her hair right though!

It's amazing how hair can alter the appearance of an art doll.

My poor fella Texas

has a mysterious illness....
He has had every test under the sun, & still has dramatic weight loss for no apparent reason.  He doesn't appear ill, just skin & bone...that can't be right eh?

And blogger?  bugger blogger, it's still playing up....I keep getting ~

New doll, & a quote I love.....

Here is a new custom doll.  I hope Beth won't mind me saying, since this is so personal... her sister has a degenerative illness, and this doll is a kind of eulogy.  I feel so privileged to have created her with Beth.

One of my art doll maker friends, has authored a book.  Patricia of Papillon Blue UK. It's written in English & French, & is an absolute treat!

Lets hope it becomes one of the best selling books of all time,  like this one ~

The four little kittens are 2 weeks old! yay! they are super cute, and have just started opening their little eyes.  Toblerone & Corky each have a splint & bandage on their twisted hind leg. Lets hope it works, else we'll have 2 three legged kittens pouncing around.

Custom Art Doll

I really enjoyed creating this art doll for a fellow Brit... thanks Amy :O)
Amy named her Anais.

I made her fabric bag from a Tilda pattern... downsized the pattern somewhat! Think I'd like a full sized one for me!

~ New Doll ~

I wanted to try something new, so learnt a sculpting technique from the late Hannie Sarris... HERE

The kittys are 7 days old... all doing well, & the two kittens with twisted legs are slowly improving.  I could only get two quick photos before mum got really pissed! I was trying to photograph Toblerone, who has a cute little triangle marking on his face, when mum yelled at me, grabbed him, and took him back to her nest. The photo was too blurry, so will try another day.  She lets me do physio on them, she just doesn't like the camera I guess!
